Our Responsible AI Commitment

UDG sees real value in the use of artificial intelligence to provide value to our clients and is committed to the ethical and responsible use of AI in our operations.

We collaborate with our clients and are committed to transparency around:

1. When we deliver content that is created using AI;
2. Which foundational models we use;
3. Which data we use for input into AI tools, and how we collect, process, store, and otherwise protect that data;
4. How we protect the reliability of output from our AI tools; and
5. How we ensure fairness and prevent bias in our AI-generated content.

Ethics and Integrity
UDG is committed to the ethical and responsible use of AI.  We abide by client instructions to avoid using AI for the work they commission. When permitted or required by clients, we will use AI tools in compliance with our written AI Usage Policy. We train all of our employees and contractors on this policy and ensure compliance with it through regular reviews and accountability measures. 

Human Centered
UDG is dedicated to remaining human-centered. We use AI tools to make our highly skilled employees more effective and require qualified human oversight of all AI tools. We use the skills and human empathy of our personnel to examine any AI-generated output that indicates error, bias, unfairness, or lack of reliability. Humans always make the final decisions on what content is used and what is not, and a human is always accountable for the output of AI tools.

Responsible Growth & Learning
Like us, we expect AI tools to keep a growth mindset and continue learning. UDG is committed to evaluation of all AI Tools for appropriate feedback loops while respecting client confidentiality and intellectual property. Unless a client has specifically authorized it in writing, we do not use AI tools that train themselves on client data or use confidential or personal information in prompting AI. We ensure that our AI tools can have findings such as errors, bias, and unfairness reported in the tool or through human connections we maintain with our AI tool vendors. Our AI Usage policy prohibits the use of AI tools that do not have an appropriate feedback mechanism for this type of growth.
